Youth Employment Strategy

to enhance the economic stability
and prosperity of a community

Summer Employment Programme

Our Summer Employment Programme (SEP) is designed to provide Bermudian college students with meaningful work and training experience during the summer months. Our SEP provides an array of summer enrichment experience within the Government and private sector.

The SEP strives to:
  • Offer an opportunity to develop the skills, attitudes, and commitment necessary to succeed in today’s world of work.
  • Provide a mechanism through which eligible students can earn money, gain meaningful work experience, participate in skills training workshops, and be exposed to various careers.
  • Enhance basic academic and other skills necessary to obtain and maintain long-term employment.
  • Help students make a smooth transition from school to career and/or higher education.

Summer Internship Programme

Our Summer Internship Programme (SIP) is designed to provide Bermudian high school students with practical and meaningful experiences in a safe, structured, and professional environment mentored while being coached by proprietors and business managers in both the private and public sectors.
  • Age eligibility 15-17 years
  • Students will be afforded a "work shadow" experience in their career interests
  • The programme is four (4) weeks during the month of July

Graduate Trainee Programme

Provides recent college and university graduates with entry level employment opportunities which allows them to gain valuable workplace experience to add to their resume as well as exposes them to employers that can hire them at the end of their programme for full-time employment.
